Ernest Cline
Ernest Cline is the writer of the novel, Ready Player One. Ready Player One is a very futuristic type of book with a unique idea of the future. Now, a little bit about Ernest Cline's personal life. He is married to Cristin O'Keefe Aptowicz, who is a nonfiction writer and a poet. He met Cristin O'Keefe Aptowicz at the 1998 National Poetry Slam and married her in 2016. Ernest Cline is the son of Faye Imogene and Ernest Christy Cline. He grew up in Ashland, Ohio and was born in 1972 on March 29. Ernest Cline has a younger brother named Eric Cline who is a Major in the United States Marine Corp, specializing as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician. Ernest Cline had performed some of his original work at the Austin Poetry Slam from 1997-2001 and was the Austin Poetry Slam Champion in 1998 and 2001. Also, he competed on the Austin Poetry Slam Team in the Austin National Poetry Slam in 1998 and also at the Seattle National Poetry Slam in 2001. Ernest Cline sold is first novel in June of 2010, to the Crown Publishing Group in a bidding war. Warner Bros then bought the film rights the very next day, with Ernest Cline to write the screenplay. Ernest Cline's second novel was sold on July 14, 2015 by the Crown Publishing Group. Then, on December 7, 2015, Ernest Cline sold the film rights of his second novel, Armada, to Universal Pictures. A third novel was announced in August of 2015 and was said to be a sequel to Ready Player One. However, no other known information has been given out.
