Now, my personal opinion of Ready Player One. I thought Ready Player One was a fantastic book with an unbelievable plot that really kept you hooked and made you want to keep reading. I found myself wanting but also hating the idea of certain things. When I first started reading I was instantly hooked and was able to picture everything in the book very detailed. The futuristic ideas, the Oasis, the curiosity of if this could actually happen was lingering beside me the whole time, imagining what it would be like if I was someone in the Oasis and playing the game. I thought the plot was very well thought out and had a lot of twists and turns you did not expect. It wasn't predictable in the slightest, the author kept you guessing. Whenever it seemed so obvious that something would happen, it didn't. Or, when it seemed like nothing would happen, something did. Out of all the characters in the book, my personal favorite was probably the main character, Wade Watts, or Parzival as he was known in the Oasis. I found myself cheering for him whenever I was able. With the books amount of twists and turns you didn't expect, Parzival wasn't always winning, even though he was the main character. I especially liked how the book allowed for the switch of Wade Watts in the Oasis and the Wade Watts of the real world. It wasn't limited to just being in the Oasis. Thus, this gave the book unimaginable creativity with how the story and plot go along. The ideas the author came up with, the challenges for the characters to deal with, how it all connected in the end, was all thought out very well. I thought how it connected our modern world today to the world then was really well put together. I believe that a series of this book could be made but it would be difficult as I am not quite sure how you should go about creating another plot, considering how the book ended. All in all, I thought Ready Player One was a fantastic book and should be read by everyone. The certain ideas of the future and how the story is so entertaining. As well as how attached you get to the characters and wish you could have known them. Ready Player One is a very well written and is definitely a must buy for anyone who likes futuristic books or gaming type of books.
